We’re excited to announce that Anglicare is celebrating our belated “Sanctuary Birthday” at the end of this month! 

This is an important time of year where we meet together as teams – where possible – and reflect on the past 12 months. Taking this time to celebrate connects us together. It gives us opportunity to remember all that has been achieved over what has arguably been one of the toughest periods we’ve faced. 

COVID lockdowns and restrictions have affected us all. That’s why now more than ever, we need to turn to the tools and expertise outlined in the Sanctuary Model to help us move forward. To run a Sanctuary Birthday celebration in your place of work, feel free to use the resources provided by the Sanctuary Core team. Adapt them to suit the needs of your team. Even look at ways of hosting on Zoom to include people who can’t meet face to face. 

You can also choose a time which suits you between Monday 28 March and Thursday 31 March to host your event.

Be part of our decorative hat competition with the theme theme of “Sanctuary values and commitments are on our minds.” Winners will be judged by members of the Sanctuary Steering Committee.

Since 2017 when Anglicare began implementing the Sanctuary Model, we’ve been working towards Sanctuary certification as an organisation. But this journey is about a lot more than certification. It means we are on track to strengthen our teams and create safer and healthier workplaces. Many of our programs serve highly vulnerable people, and we want to make sure that every staff member, volunteer and carer across our regions feels safe, equipped and connected to deliver the best care.
