Anglicare is delighted to announce the official launch of a new ‘Bargain Hunter’ op-shop at 41 Colbee Court in Phillip on Wednesday May 4. The new Phillip store will be open to customers from 9.30am Monday May 2.
The store will complement the larger ‘Bargain Hunter’ store on Monaro Street in Queanbeyan that operates as a sorting area, retail outlet and Food Fair providing assistance to people needing food, clothing, and other emergency support.
Retail Manager, Kaye Pritchard, is excited about what this new store means for the community. “This store will provide an option for families preferring cheaper retail alternatives, as well as for those who enjoy the vintage shopping experience.”
The strategic location means the new store will act as a community meeting point in Phillip where people can donate and recycle items, and where shoppers can easily walk between a range of similar shops.
Anglicare CEO, Jeremy Halcrow, hopes that the new ‘Bargain Hunter’ is well received. “We feel this initiative meets a real need. The decision to open this new store is in response to an ever-increasing amount of items being donated, the increasing number of shoppers visiting the existing store, and the desire in the community for low-cost retail options.”
Anglicare plans to expand the ‘Bargain Hunter’ retail services across the region.
Donations of clean and saleable goods can be made directly at the store or through the Anglicare bins which are located throughout the Canberra area or by delivery to the rear of the store in opening hours.
Both ‘Bargain Hunter’ stores will be open from 9.30 until 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am until 4pm on Saturday.
