Through the collaborative efforts of Anglicare and the Lanyon Valley Anglican Church, the Gordon Community Centre in Canberra’s south has thrived in recent years—offering a variety of community programs and services including playgroups, coffee & chat sessions, gentle exercise classes, a table tennis club and essential emergency relief.
For the past four years, Lyndal Rogers, the Lanyon Valley Anglican Church Community Chaplain, has played a key role in the function and growth of the centre. Her commitment to the local community and the relationships she has built with local groups, schools, churches, and individuals have been invaluable in ensuring the centre is welcoming and productive.
As Lyndal moves on from her role as Community Chaplain, we would like to thank her for working alongside Anglicare with such kindness and humility and for fostering our connection with the Lanyon Valley Anglican Church.
“She has been a wonderful Community Chaplain”, said Rose Flintoff, the Gordon Community Centre Coordinator. “She has a heart for community and service and is never too busy for a chat. Her friendly nature and willingness to help will be greatly missed.”
We wish Lyndal all the best in her future endeavours.
