A valued Anglicare staff member, Therese Garnsey, was licensed as a Lay Minister at Holy Trinity, Dubbo, in recognition of her dedicated work for Anglicare’s No Interest Loans Service (NILS).
NILS helps people on low fixed incomes to pay for goods like washing machines without exorbitant interest. The NILS service is based out of Dubbo but covers a considerable proportion of NSW South and West.
A number of you may have been contacted by Therese when seeking to obtain documents or send cheques to clients. If you have, you will know the degree of care that she takes on behalf of the people that she and her team serve.
Therese is also an active member of Holy Trinity.
Therese commented on being made a Licensed Lay Minister: “I was really humbled. I wondered if I was up to this and I was assured that it was simply recognising what I was already doing.” It is really good to see a church licensing lay ministers for mission service in the community in this way.
Congratulations Therese!
