Anglicare Riverina are celebrating the achievements of their newest graduates of the HIPPY program.
The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) supports Riverina families through the Ashmont Community Resource Centre. HIPPY is a home-based, education-focused learning program that helps prepares children for school.
The two-year program encourages a love of learning, builds confidence and improves communication between parents and children. It enables parents to be actively involved in their children’s education and helps break the cycle of disadvantage from a young age.
In the 2015-2016 financial year, HIPPY Ashmont graduated over 93% of families and this fantastic result was recognised with a $5000 Performance Payment to honour coordinators’ and tutors’ successful engagement with families and the ability to support children to engage at school.
