When a relationship breakdown left Maddison and her baby son with nowhere else to go, she turned to Anglicare for help.
“Anglicare helped me and even paid for hotel accommodation for me until something more permanent could be found,” says 20 year old Maddison. “I couldn’t go home to live with my own mother and my 15 year old sister also couldn’t stay at home. This meant I needed to find accommodation for me, my son and my sister but there were no private rentals that I could afford.”
Anglicare’s Housing Support team in Yass rallied behind Maddison and her sister Hailey. Through a partnership with Argyle Housing the team eventually found them the accommodation they desperately needed.
“With the help of Anglicare and other local services we’re now in safe, secure housing and my situation is so much better. My sister is even able to go back to school. Our lives are on track but I don’t know what I would have done without help. I’m so relieved that all of us, and especially my son, now have a more secure future.”
