2025 March Appeal – Regional
Your support will help young women build a better future.
Right now, there are young women struggling without the help they need from their families or communities. But together, we can help. Together we can make real and meaningful change in their young lives.
“Young girls have been falling through the cracks. Again and again, we are seeing them displaying high risk behaviours and being picked up by police. They don’t have the support they need at home, or in their community to learn better, healthier ways of acting.” – Anglicare Case Manager, Britt McBride
In our regional areas, one of the key ways we support families, is through initiatives like our Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) program, which works with vulnerable families who are struggling financially, with the impact of drug and alcohol use, or as a result of domestic violence.
Every day, our case workers help families to build capacity, develop healthier relationships, learn parenting skills, and engage positively with the wider community.
Unfortunately, our teams have identified a significant gap in support for young females in our regions. NSW Police data reveals a troubling trend: in the Eurobodalla and Bega shires, a large portion of those discussed in Youth Action Meetings are young women. This highlights the urgent need for targeted resources to address the unique challenges they face.
While our TEI program generously receives funding from the Department of Communities and Justice for family-based programs, there is a gap in youth-focused initiatives, especially those that engage directly with young women aged 12-24.
Your gift will directly support at-risk young women by:
Increasing our youth engagement: Current funding limitations for our TEI program require that our support focuses mainly on family groups, meaning that older children often get missed. Your donation will allow us to engage directly with at-risk young women.
Providing essential health and wellbeing information: With your support we will provide young women with essential health and wellbeing information, tailored to their individual experiences, which will allow them to make safe and informed decisions.
Empowering young women: By providing a safe place for vulnerable young women to break from unhealthy habits, learn about self-esteem, develop trusting relationships, and share their experiences, your donation will provide the opportunity for them to truly thrive.
