Supporting the Ashmont community in partnership with the Anglican Community of the Redeemer Ashmont.
About Us
Ashmont community Resourse Centre offers a range of supports to the community as well as outreach and referral services.
These services include individual and family support, family case management, No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) and parenting resources.
The centre also runs a supported playgroup during the school term and offers health and general wellbeing checks for Aboriginal community members.
Ashmont Community Resource Centre has become a hub for many locals to come together and build connections and stronger friendships in the community.
Services and programs are free or low cost.

Services & Activities
A diverse range of services are offered at the Ashmont Community Resource Centre to support people, and to strengthen connections between individuals, families and the local community.

SUPPORT
Food Relief
Emergency food relief and personal care items are available to assist people experiencing hardship. We also provide information and can assist with referrals to other services for long term support. No health care card or pension card required. Food relief is available Monday-Friday during centre hours. Access to the Pantry is limited to a maximum of one visit per month.

COMMUNITY
Playgroup
A great way for children and parents to develop friendships with other local families. Play and activities take place in purpose-built indoor and outdoor space and a snack and an early lunch is provided. Parents are required to stay on site with their children. The playgroup is free for all families although gold coin donations are welcomed.
10.00am-11.30 on Mondays during the school term.

Survive & Thrive
Survive & Thrive is an Anglicare program in Wagga which supports families with children aged 0-12 and aims to strengthen and maintain family relationships, and improve children’s wellbeing through a holistic approach that combines case management with supported playgroups. The program utilises a child-centred approach, targeting parent education, skills building and early intervention.

COMMUNITY
HIPPY
The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a two-year, home-based, early learning and parenting program for families with young children. HIPPY supports parents in becoming their children’s first teacher and helps foster a love of learning from a young age. HIPPY is based at the Ashmont Community Resource Centre.

SUPPORT SERVICE
Centrelink Help
Fortnightly on Thursdays from 10:00am-11am, meet with a Centrelink Community Engagement Officer for assistance with any Centrelink related questions or concerns.

COMMUNITY
Community Breakfast
You’re invited to join us for our free Community Breakfast on the 1st Monday of every month. The Community Breakfast is a great opportunity to make new friends and get to know the Ashmont team while enjoying a yummy breakfast together.

Lifetime Learning
Lifetime Learning is an Anglicare program for Aboriginal families to support parents who have children under 5 years old. Lifetime Learning includes developmental screenings to help identify healthy development in children, story time and morning tea with other families.

SUPPORT SERVICE
Counselling
Relationships Australia runs counselling sessions by appointment. Sessions can support families, individuals or couples to develop positive strategies to support one another and thrive. Contact the centre for more information.

COMMUNITY
Community Lunch
Our free Community Kitchen is hosted fortnightly on Fridays from 10am. We prep and cook together from 10am and the meal is served at 12noon until all gone. A great opportunity to learn some new cooking skills and spend time with others.
